Entering its fourth year, Sydney Shakespeare Festival has become one of Sydney’s
summer event highlights. Shakespeare’s plays have captured the imagination of
millions of people throughout the world for over 400 years and are as exciting and
provocative now as the day they were written.

Our ongoing mission is to:

  • Entertain, challenge and inspire audiences with productions that illuminate meaning,
expand understanding and deepen appreciation of Shakespeare’s plays.

  • Provide a FREE and accessible festival for children, people with disabilities and older
people and an affordable and accessible festival for all other members of the community.

  • Stage the festival in a relaxed, family friendly environment that encourages audiences
to experience the thrill of outdoor theatre while enjoying a picnic and taking in the
spectacular views of Sydney harbour and city skyline.
